DOs and DONTs for your Magnaware Cookware

DO

  • Condition with cooking oil before first use
  • Wash in warm soapy water using products such as Bar Keepers Friend or Bon Ami
  • Preheat on medium heat for 2-3 minutes before adding food
  • Use plastic, nylon, or wooden cooking utensils

DON’T

  • Wash in the dishwasher
  • Leave foods that are high in acid or salt in it, as this can darken the cooking surface.
  • Put in the oven during the self-cleaning cycle
  • Soak in water for prolonged periods when cleaning
  • Use Magnaware cookware under a broiler, over a campfire, or in a microwave oven
  • Use on induction stoves without adapter or on gas grill
  • Overheat the pan/pot so it doesn’t warp
  • Cool too quickly with cold water i.e. causing a thermal shock after cooking
  • Use metal cooking utensils
  • Store foods in the pots after cooking as this can cause blackening of the surface
  • Boil plain water or cook pasta/noodles in the pot.
