THERE IS AN UNSEASONED AREA ON THE FACE OF THE BALL JOINT, DID THE SEASONING FAIL?
During the grinding / finishing phase, we test every set of paddles with a single, known good base. We test again when we are packing your waffle paddles with your base. If the fit is not “Just right,” we touch up the ball joint with a 100 grit diamond wheel and test again. Once satisfied, we put a drop of oil on the area and complete the packing process. The metal is extremely smooth where we polished the ball joint face and is not prone to rust. When you cook, a little bit of cooking spray will drip into that area and it will naturally season as you make waffles.
